One Big Thing: Honoring Senator John S. McCain
Join us and spread the word to your community
August 25, 2020 marks two years since the passing of Senator John S. McCain, the original maverick and inspiration for the We Hold These Truths campaign. During his time in politics, Senator McCain did not always agree with his colleagues in Congress, but he always respected them. This sentiment embodies the civic discourse and engagement which is all too rare lately.
For the second year, the We Hold These Truths Campaign reminds Americans of Senator McCain’s legacy and joins the McCain Family and the McCain Institute in honoring the legacy of Senator McCain through acts of civility. We encourage you to reengage with someone with whom you disagree or commit to work together with someone who has had a different perspective than you. Through these inclusive actions, we can bridge the gap and have conversations about issues that can unite us as a society.
