What is it?

- While testifying to congress on Monday about mail in ballots during states’ primary elections, Postmaster General Louis DeJoy defended his management of the U.S. Postal Service. Democrats on the committee claimed that he intentionally disrupted mail service to slow down mail in voting, while Republicans called it a political stunt.
Why is it important?
- The bill that was passed in the House will fund the Postal Service to handle the increased volume of mail in ballots expected in November. It will also ensure there are no barriers that would slow down the processing of mail in ballots.
