The US Postal System is the one system that serves all Americans - even those serving overseas. It is a lifeline for rural areas which may not be covered by other delivery services. The postal system handles letters, packages, medicines, food shipments, even live animals. If the system is delayed, the unintended consequences are manifold and many not good. Try explaining to the 4-year-old who can't have a party this year why she didn't get a birthday card from Grandma as she has all her life on her special day. Temperature sensitive medicines may arrive useless to someone whose life is at risk. Food spoils and no one wants week-old Texas barbecue. Live animals die if left without food and water. Imagine being locked in an un-temperature-controlled box for 3 or 4 days with no sustenance.

Mail in Ballots are not safe. This is not because Donald Trump says it but because I have seen that in my own research in graduating with a degree in Political Science and following elections for decades. For the Democrats now to say its the only way to vote or what they want - when they will not even secure the vote with IDs that even poor nations due and when we have overseen elections we require those nations to have

The US Postal Service has played a critical role in our Democracy. It provides several critical services - including delivery of medications, and last-mile service for letters and packages to many remote areas that commercial couriers will not service directly. Two of many reasons that a thriving, functional Postal Service are important. Especially in rural areas.

Ludicrous not to fund the Post Office! This defunding has nothing to do with making the institution better and all to do with benefiting a strong Trump donor! Drain the corrupt Trump administration- vote him out and let him stand trail for his years of family corruption!

The Postal Service would not have financial problems if politicians had not imposed such drastic retirement fund requirements and restricted their ability to make timely changes. But the Service is vital to remote rural areas and many are dependent on the Service for delivery of vital drugs. The need for prompt and reliable voting capability is also critical.

The mail service is still partially the glue that holds our country together and will be an essential service should the internet ever be compromised. It is reprehensible that the Republican party attack the mail service for political gain. I am a registered Republican and cannot understand why my party takes this stance. Let both parties work for the good of our country.

Our postal service is a vital part of businesses, food shopping, medicine delivery, and a variety of communications, from books to music to love letters. We would be less than a third rate nation without the postal service we had before DeJoy began dismantling it. He needs to be charged, convicted, and jailed.

The U.S. Postal service has a long and distinguished heritage. If our history and heritage is important, then the Postal Service certainly qualifies with roots in Founding Father, Benjamin Franklin. Many low income and rural people are dependent on the Post Office for medications and income checks. Not everyone has electronic access to necessities.

Since 1981 the GOP has been trying to destroy the federal government, except for the military, and hamper the maintenance of national infrastructure. They seem to wish for a return of the Articles of Confederation or, at least, the Confederacy.

If you listen to Trump, then you'll know that he has repeatedly said that Republicans will never win another election, if people are allowed to vote by mail. He claims his appointment of Louis DeJoy to head the USPS was to improve its function. That hasn't happened because mail delivery has slowed down since he appointed DeJoy who's never had any experience in the USPS, but he did contribute $1.5 million to DJT's campaign, inaugural, etc. funds. Apparently, like Gordon Sondland who contributed $1 million to DJT's inaugural fund which got him an ambassadorship to the Ukraine, it not only takes "an oath of loyalty to DJT", but also money to get an appointment without any prior experience. Hmm, this sounds somewhat familiar; DJT used to accuse the Clintons of "pay-for-play" contributions to their Foundation which he said bought people a stay in the Lincoln Bedroom in the White House. DJT frequently accuses other people of behavior which he himself is guilty of doing. What he's doing with the USPS needs to be brought to a fast, screeching halt. It's another way of suppressing votes which is un-american, unfair, and fear-based behavior.
