What Does the World Look Like Without a Free Press?
Are we doing enough to protect journalists worldwide?
As Americans, we often take our rights to free speech and a free press for granted.
To illustrate this fact, The One Free Press Coalition releases a monthly list of the “10 most urgent” global press freedom cases.
Looking through this list, it’s clear that, internationally, many journalists are detained, imprisoned, and sometimes tortured for pursuing truth and exercising what we believe to be a basic tenet of human liberty.
This list is a somber reminder of the importance of our First Amendment freedoms and why we must fight to protect them.
