Does anyone remember, half a century ago, when a certain deep-southern-state governor stood in the doorway of the courthouse and announced that he (and his state) would *not* obey the federal order to integrate public schools in his state? Remember how eager White mobs showed up at the schools to guarantee that no Black kids could come in? Remember how the (Republic) President promptly ordered that state's National Guard into federal service, and ordered them to protect the Black children and "discourage" the mobs? Remember how the liberal Democrats cheered for this action and made "states' rights" into swear words? Well, if using federal troops to break up mobs was a great idea then, it's a great idea now. Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.
