Everyone is cutting corners on testing routes and standards at the moment because of the pandemic. If the Russian vaccine becomes widely available, there will already be a great deal of empirical data on its safety and efficacy from the internal Russian experience and from early adoption in its dependent allies. We will know very well if it is safe and effective or not and, if the West starts to purchase it, because of the political context, it will only be if it is very rigorously demonstrated to be both of those, so receiving it will be a no-brainer for westerners.
