Every eligible American citizen has the right and duty to cast their vote in this election. We still have several months to get this right, and one option is universal Voting by mail. This is already done in states like Washington, with great success. So it is not a totally novel experiment. Faced with a contagious pandemic voting by mail seems to be an obvious answer. It is just the mechanics and the political will to get it done, in time, with a functioning USPS in place. One report indicates there is no clear advantage or disadvantage to either Party. Yet this President seems to reject the possibility this could be done successfully. The final reason to move toward voting by mail is the Wisconsin Primary where people stood in lines and more voters and poll workers became infected. Voters should not have to choose between exercising their rights or becoming ill with a risk of death, no matter how small that risk might be.
